Customer experience software provider Amdocs launched a new core network testing service that unifies and automates complex network testing to reduce service provider testing time and costs while improving network quality. The new Amdocs Core Network Testing Service enables service providers to deliver superior customer experience by ensuring high service quality, while reducing total cost of network ownership and accelerating time to market for new broadband services.  By eliminating multiple vendor testing cycles that increase operational costs and delay service introductions, the new service will address the growing complexity of physical and virtualized networks as well as new network technologies and services such as 4G LTE and VoLTE.

Anritsu Company has announced a new analyzer this month that enables RRH performance to be measured from the ground, eliminating unnecessary tower climbs to make network optimization more efficient. Anritsu Company has introduced CPRI RF measurement capability into its handheld field analyzers that dramatically simplifies and lowers the cost of testing Remote Radio Heads (RRHs) installed atop 4G towers. The new testing option reduces network operating expense by enabling wireless carrier engineers, technicians, and contractors responsible for wireless networks to identify interference sources on the radio uplink at ground level, reducing the use of unnecessary and costly tower climbing crews.

In a major move that provides a glimpse into a telco future being shaped by significant changes in bandwidth and network functionality, VimpelCom and Ericsson announced a software partnership worth over $1 billion that fundamentally transforms VimpelCom’s traditional telco infrastructure into a global digital IT architecture. VimpelCom will digitalize and globalize its Business Support Systems (BSS) infrastructure using Ericsson's new software and cloud technologies. The partnership encompasses a complete overhaul of VimpelCom's IT infrastructure across 11 countries and 12 time zones - on a scale that is the largest and most ambitious in the industry's history.
