ZTE CoMP SD Solution Achieves 110 km Microwave Link in PeruZTE Backbone Microwave Network Achieves Major Breakthrough in Peru with Innovative CoMP SD Solution
ZTE (0763.HK / 000063.SZ) Corporation (0763.HK / 000063.SZ), a global leading provider of integrated information and communication technology solutions, today announced a major breakthrough in the backbone microwave network market in Peru. Powered by its advanced CoMP SD (Coordinated Multi-Point Space Diversity) solution, ZTE successfully addressed the challenges of ultra-long-distance transmission and complex deployment environments. The solution enables transmission over an ultra-long distance of 110 kilometers while significantly reducing the amount of hardware required, effectively lowering customers' capital expenditure and providing strong support for the upgrade of backbone microwave transmission services in the region.
The backbone microwave market has long been characterized by high technical barriers and intense competition. Backbone microwave networks must deliver exceptional reliability and stability while supporting high-capacity transmission. In this project, the team faced multiple challenges, including limited spectrum resources, complex interference, an exceptionally long link distance of up to 110 kilometers, and the demanding geographical conditions of the Amazon rainforest. Working closely with the product line and the customer, the project team conducted extensive solution discussions and technical clarifications, continuously optimizing the solution to meet the customer's requirements. Ultimately, a customized multi-band backbone microwave solution was adopted to effectively mitigate spectrum interference and ensure reliable network performance. The solution leverages several key innovations. By introducing the industry-leading high-power ODU (HRUT3D), which features a maximum transmit power of 35 dBm, together with advanced modulation technologies, the solution delivers outstanding performance under ultra-long-distance transmission conditions. The link design achieves up to 99.999% availability, with a thermal fading margin of up to 30 dB, providing robust assurance for high-availability, high-capacity transmission even in extremely challenging environments. ZTE's CoMP SD solution previously demonstrated its commercial capability on an over-60 km single hop in an Indonesian project in 2025. The Peru project further extends the transmission distance of the same solution to 110 kilometers, providing a replicable technical reference for ultra-long-distance, repeaterless transmission scenarios. The solution has already been deployed in multiple countries and regions, continuously demonstrating its adaptability and reliability across diverse application scenarios. ZTE will continue to drive technological innovation and enhance product quality, delivering trusted, leading solutions to customers worldwide and working together with partners to build the next generation of networks.
