Velankani Streamlines Multivendor xDSL/GPON Access Networks for Tier 1 CSP

Tier 1 Service Provider Selects Velankani’s NOCVue™ UNITY Service Management Solution to Dramatically Improve Efficiency In Provisioning and Provide Field Technician interface to Multivendor xDSL/GPON Access Networks

NOCVue™ UNITY Service Management Provides Multivendor xDSL/GPON Access Networks with Single-screen Operations Center Functionality on a WebUI and a Mobile Handheld device; Applying Automation and Integration with OSS Greatly Improves the Average Resolution Time for Subscriber Fallouts and Repair Functions

Velankani Communications Technologies, Inc. announced today at the TM Forum Show that a leading Tier-1 US-based service provider has selected their NOCVue™ UNITY Platform to improve their operational efficiencies in addressing the fall-out from provisioning their multi-vendor xDSL/GPON access network. Dramatic efficiency improvements are seen through substantially decreased average handle times and through direct functional access made available to field technicians via unique handheld functionality.

The UNITY unified service management solution provides an intuitive, vendor-agnostic, web-based User Interface to manage ds/GPON subscribers’ services. It acts as a centralized platform aggregating multi-vendor EMS systems into one unified activation platform.  The unified and simplified user-interface flows have not only improved the fallout management but also reduced the training cycles for operation centre personnel. A subscriber’s circuit can be completely rebuilt with just a single click from either the web interface or the handheld application.

This process would otherwise take numerous steps or procedures if performed using the native EMS applications. The handheld application has given the power to the field technicians to perform the repair function from their handheld device instead of calling operations center personnel. This is a tremendous savings both in terms of effort and time required for problem resolution.

“Our solution provides quick and easy-to-use tools for the activation, provisioning, deletion and repair of subscribers’ services”, according to Raj Singh,” CEO of Velankani Communications Technologies, Inc.  “The UNITY solution has benefited the service provider in cutting down the average fall out handle time at the operations center by 30-40%; while the handheld application removes numerous steps in the process.”   He further added, “with NOCVue Unity integrated into the service provider network, we have a tremendous opportunity for automation of failed order resolutions, real-time provisioning, automating network facing repair operations, and more.”

This application will systematically drill down to the port level for switching information based on the fallout details. The solution also provides an “as-is” view of each vendor’s equipment chassis by using the QuickChassis™ library/repository. Velankani has integrated the solution with the service provider’s LDAP for user authentication/authorization and with the other OSS platforms to provide updated information about network inventory and service orders
