AWS Commits $50M to White House Genesis Mission Science AcceleratorAWS Announces Golden Age of Science Accelerator, Commits Up to $50 Million in Cloud Credits to Support White House Expansion of Genesis MissionAmazon Web Services (AWS) announced a commitment of up to $50 million in credits over three years to support the White House's expansion of the Genesis Mission, unveiled at the White House Science Summit. As the Trump Administration expands the Genesis Mission to an additional 14 federal agencies, AWS is excited to meet the moment with the AWS Golden Age of Science Accelerator, which will provide credits for scientific research and AI-for-science workloads across U.S. federal science agencies and their research partners — helping to remove financial barriers and compress innovation timelines to accelerate breakthroughs critical to American scientific leadership. "American scientists are on the cusp of breakthroughs that will define the next century — from accelerating biomedical research and improving health outcomes, to AI-driven drug discovery — but they need computing power at scale" said David Appel, Interim Vice President of Worldwide Public Sector at AWS. "The AWS Golden Age of Science Accelerator is about making sure that researchers can move from idea to running at scale on AWS in days, not years from now. We're proud to support the White House's vision and the researchers working to keep America at the forefront of scientific discovery." AWS Golden Age of Science AcceleratorThe AWS Golden Age of Science Accelerator provides eligible participants up to $50 million in AWS cloud computing credits for scientific research and AI-for-science workloads across U.S. federal science agencies, their research partners, and other participating federal agencies. Participants interested in receiving credits can visit the Government Accelerator Initiative Portal and complete the interest form. AWS will schedule a consultation and work with eligible participants to develop project proposals aligned with the government’s scientific research priorities. If the project is selected, post-award credits will be applied to existing contracts, and participants can begin building. Commitment to Government CustomersAWS is unwaveringly committed to public sector customers in the federal, defense, and intelligence communities, and today supports more than 15,000 government customers across the globe. AWS brings nearly a decade of experience supporting some of the U.S. government's most sensitive workloads and breaking barriers for our customers. AWS was the first cloud provider to build infrastructure specifically for government security standards (2011), support classified workloads (2014), and achieve accreditation across all U.S. government data classifications (2017). Here is a look at the most recent investments AWS has made for its government customers:
