Official Rules & Submission Process

  1. Companies can nominate themselves, their customers, vendors, or partners at any time prior to the submission deadline for the year in which they want to compete. Companies may also be nominated by Pipeline based on its familiarity and independent review of the company's technology.
  2. To nominate a company and enter the awards, the nomination form must be completed and submitted online by clicking here.
  3. All applicable fees and payment information must be received before any nomination can be approved.
  4. Early-bird Pricing is available for new contestants who enter the awards program by the Early-bird deadline, generally within one month of the from the program start. Progressive Pricing is available to past contestants wanting to enter the awards and pay as they advance through the awards program. Under progressive pricing, a fee of $495 is due at the time of nomination, $995 is due at the time of advancement to Semi-finalist, and $1995 is due at the time of advancement to Finalist. After the close of Early-bird and Progress Pricing, only Standard Pricing is available which requires a $2,995 entrance fee, plus $495 for each category entered due at the time of nomination. Entrance, but not advancement, in the Editor’s Choice award category is automatically included for all contestants at no additional cost and is based upon submissions across all categories.
  5. The Innovation Awards program runs the length of each calendar year, starting on January 1st, and the deadline for all nominations is four months prior to the announcement of winners of the current year's awards contest. However, extensions may be granted by Pipeline up and to the Submission Deadline if requested and available. The program deadlines and end date will be communicated separately based upon receipt of nominations and to ensure ample competition in each category. Official Nomination Forms are encouraged to be submitted as soon as possible to provide ample opportunity to receive and complete the submission packages before the submission deadline. All applicable fees must be received with the nomination form and any contestant whose fees are not received with their nomination may be subject to disqualification unless an extension is requested and granted.
  6. All other nominations must be received prior to the submission deadline. Official nomination forms are encouraged to be received as soon as possible to provide ample opportunity to receive and complete the submission packages before the submission deadline. Nominations begin each year starting with open nominations on January 1st, followed by Pipeline nominations. Specific dates and any respective adjustments are provided in program communication material during the current contenst year. All applicable fees must be received with the nomination form and any contestant whose fees are not received by the Nomination Deadline may be subject to disqualification unless an extension is requested and granted.
  7. Submission questionnaires for each category will be sent to contestants after the close of nominations and the receipt, review, and approval of their official nomination forms and receipt of the applicable fees.
  8. The deadline for completed submission questionnaires is one month prior to the announcement of winners for the current year's awards contest. Submission packages must be received from contestant for each of the categories in which they are nominated by the submission deadline or they risk disqualification, which may result in a complete forfiet, if an extension was not previously granted.
  9. The winner of the Most Innovative Technology Provider will be awarded a prize worth approximately $50,000 USD comprised of advertising services in Pipeline magazine. There is no cash value for this prize and it cannot be exchanged for any other service or transferred to any other person or entity. The prize must be used within one calendar year from the date of winning the award or it will be forfeited, including any unused portion of the prize that has not been used within one calendar year of winning the prize.
  10. The official Innovation Award Nominee logos will be sent to contestants once their official nomination forms have been received and approved by Pipeline.
  11. Semi-finalists will be announced two months prior to the annoucement of Winners and they will receive their semi-finalist logos the week following the announcement.
  12. Finalists will be announced one month prior to the announcement of winners and they will receive their finalist logos the week following the announcement.
  13. Winners will be announced at at the program end or the Innovation Awards Reception, if applicable. Winner and Runner-up logos will be sent approximately one week after they are announced. Winner and Runner-up trophies will be shipped approximately one-month after annoucement. Each Winner or Runner-up will recieve one trophy for the highest placement they achieve. Additional trophies are available for purchase.
  14. RSVPs for the Awards Reception, if applicable, must be received no less than one month prior to the Awards Reception. All contestants, judges and sponsors receive a number of free tickets to the event but must complete the RSVP form online at: click here. Additional tickets are available for purchase.
  15. Pipeline reserves the right to cancel or merge categories based on a lack of participation, i.e., three (3) or fewer contestants. Any contestants in the affected categories will be given the opportunity to move into another category at that time. Pipeline also reserves the right to change any and all deadline and submission dates at their discretion.
  16. Once submission questionnaires have been sent to contestants, contestants are strictly prohibited from dropping or changing their selected categories unless a category is removed by Pipeline. Changing, dropping or canceling participation in any category may result in forfeit. Forfeit includes the complete removal from participation in the respective year's award program, and a fofeit of all fees and charges - including a one time forfeit charge of $1995. Pipeline may change categories in which contestants enter at its discretion based upon where it believes it could best compete based upon the contestant's final submission and subsequent scoring.
  17. Pipeline reserves the right to add new categories if established ones have more than five (5) contestants. New categories will group similar contestants into a new category related to their similarity.
  18. Contestants can add additional categories to their nomination at any time prior to the submission deadline.
  19. Supporting material such as demonstrations, case studies, presentations, white papers, videos, and industry recognition can be included with submission packages and is encouraged.
  20. Submissions that include customer examples and references will be weighted more favorably.
  21. All submissions and supporting material will be considered confidential and made known only to those involved in the submission, evaluation and selection processes. Submissions may be redacted at the request of the submitter prior to being submitted to the Judge’s Panel provided that the request is included in the submission forms and the information to be redacted is noted as such throughout. Submissions may also be redacted by the contestant prior to submission to remove any sensitive or confidential information before it is sent to the judging panel.
  22. There are no limits on the number of Finalists in each category, as determined by the awards scoring model. However, each category is restricted to have only one Winner and one Runner-up selected from the group of Finalists within each respective category. Only service providers are able to compete in the Most Innovative Operator category.
  23. The esteemed Judging Panel is comprised of key executives from top service providers and enterprises from around the world, influential industry analysts and Pipeline editors. During the evaluation period any member of the panel may reach out to contestants for interviews, demonstrations or site visits or to gather additional information.
  24. All category submissions will be provided to the Judges Panel for voting, with the exception of Editor’s Choice and Most Innovative Operator. The Most Innovative Operator will be voted on by an analyst subgroup of the Judging Panel and the Editor’s Choice category will be voted on exclusively by Pipeline.
  25. Editorial coverage of the awards program is at the discretion of Pipeline and will be provided, if applicable, in Pipeline’s Innovation issue.
