Cox CTO Kevin Hart to Chair SCTE•ISBE
Cable-Tec
Expo® 2018
Premier cable technology event returns to
Atlanta next year Oct. 22-25
Kevin Hart, executive vice president and Chief Product and
Technology Officer for Cox Communications, once again will chair the
Fall Technical Forum for SCTE•ISBE Cable-Tec Expo® when the
cable industry’s leading technology event returns to Atlanta in 2018,
the Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers (SCTE) and its global
arm, the International Society of Broadband Experts (ISBE), announced
today.
Hart, who chaired Cable-Tec Expo’s highly successful run in Atlanta
in 2013, will lead the committee that builds the Expo Fall Technical
Forum, the workshops that sharpen the focus on technology’s role as the
foundation for new cable services and revenue opportunities. He succeeds
the co-chairs of SCTE•ISBE Cable-Tec Expo 2017, Altice USA Vice
Chairman, Business Development–Network and Technology Services Terry
Cordova and Charter Communications Executive Vice President, Engineering
and Information Technology Jim Blackley.
SCTE•ISBE Cable-Tec Expo 2018 will be conducted Monday, Oct. 22
through Thursday, Oct. 25, at the Georgia World Congress Center. The
Fall Technical Forum is a joint production of SCTE•ISBE, NCTA, and
CableLabs® that drives thought leadership from a wide range
of large and small international operators as well as a cross-section of
technology partners.
“Year in and year out, Kevin Hart’s vision, commitment to excellence,
and technology expertise have helped Cox be among the very best at
transforming the lives of consumers,” said Mark Dzuban, president and
CEO of SCTE•ISBE. “Kevin’s leadership will be key to shaping an Expo
program that will help to drive deeper understanding of the value of
training, standards, and thought leadership as catalysts for improvement
in operators’ bottom lines.”
“In a rapidly-shifting media landscape, it’s essential for cable to
continue to prepare the technology workforce for the changes ahead,”
said Hart. “I look forward to working with the Cable-Tec Expo 2018
Program Committee to create an agenda that will provide SCTE•ISBE
members and Expo attendees with the technical knowledge and industry
insights they need to maintain our competitive edge well into the
future.”
Prior to joining Cox, Hart was CIO of Clearwire, where he led the
