Australia and New Zealand Sign $187.4 Million Contract with Inmarsat for New SouthPAN Satellite Service

World-class satellite positioning service to be built on one of three new Inmarsat I-8 satellites starting in 2027

Every major industry in Australia and New Zealand, from transport to construction and agriculture, will benefit from the positioning and navigation advantages offered by the new Southern Positioning Augmentation Network (SouthPAN) satellite service.

With the signing of a contract with Inmarsat Australia for the new service on one of three new Inmarsat I-8 satellites , SouthPAN partners Geoscience Australia and Toitū Te Whenua Land Information New Zealand are one step closer to world-class satellite positioning for the southern hemisphere.
