Pipeline COMET Awards heat up

Pipeline’s 2014 COMET Innovation Awards program is in full swing, encompassing more than 200 nominations for over 100 companies in 10 areas of innovation so far.  And the mainstream media is taking notice too. The COMET awards program has been covered by everyone from CNBC to Wall Street Journal as well as by other trade publications that focus on the publishing industry such as min magazine, which covers brand leaders in the space.

The 100 nominated companies include technology providers such as Amdocs, CSG International, Ericsson, JSDU, Subex, Microsoft; service provider nominees such as AT&T, British Telecom (BT), Deutsche Telekom (DT), Google, Sprint, Telefonica; and many others. Over twenty semi-finalists have been selected so far and participation is growing daily.  A complete list of nominees, semi-finalists, finalists, runners-up and winners as they are announced and other program details can be found and will be continually updated here.

“The 2014 COMET Innovation Awards program is shaping up to be the best competition in the program’s history,” says Scott St. John, Executive Editor at Pipeline. “This year’s program has attracted enormous participation from most innovative players in the space and we’re happy to see the breadth of innovation that is transforming our global society.”

Enriching the program even further, Pipeline has added a prize worth over $50,000 which includes one full year of advertising services for the company that wins the “Technology Provider of the Year” category.  This category is designed to recognize the most innovative provider of technology solutions that are enabling the next generation of COMET products and services.

To accommodate this new addition to the program, Pipeline has extended the nomination deadline for new nominees to April 17, 2014. Those interested in competing for awards should submit the official nomination form as soon as possible to ensure adequate time for review, approval and completion of their subsequent submission package. Existing nominees can add additional categories, including the Most Innovative Technology Provider category, to their nomination at any time prior to the submission deadline by emailing  comet14@pipelinepub.com for a special promotional code they can use on the nomination form.

Unlike other awards programs, Pipeline’s Innovation Awards are judged by an esteemed panel of key executives from top service providers and influential analysts from Pipeline's Industry Advisory Board. The judges' identities are held in confidence until the awards reception to avoid any possibility of influence that may occur prior to the selection of a winner. Last year’s judges can be viewed here.

“I was thoroughly impressed with the quality of the competition; the work of those who competed truly brought innovative technologies to the forefront of the telecommunications market,” said David Lindsay III, Chief Architect, BT Global Services who served as a judge for Pipeline’s 2013 awards program. “It was an exception opportunity to have the ability to meet the finalists, discuss their work and see the technical innovators come together at the Awards reception to be recognized as the best of the best.”

The awards program culminates with our exclusive gala reception on the French Riviera in June. This year the event will take place at the iconic Le Negresco in Nice, France.
