New Patented Solution Commoditizes Wireless Bandwidth on LTE Networks

Rivada Networks Announces Eurasian Patent for Signature DSA Technology

Rivada Networks today announced it has been awarded a patent for its Dynamic Spectrum Arbitrage technology that commoditizes wireless bandwidth on LTE networks for real-time reallocation of network resources between buyers and sellers

Rivada Networks today announces the award of a Eurasian Patent to the company for its industry-leading signature technology, Dynamic Spectrum Arbitrage.

Dynamic Spectrum Arbitrage allows real-time reallocation of network resources between wholesale buyers and sellers of wireless bandwidth.

Together with Rivada's Open Access marketplace, DSA commoditizes wireless bandwidth on LTE networks. That means lower barriers to entry, greater innovation and more-efficient use of increasingly scarce wireless spectrum.

As emergency services around the world move to broadband from voice-only communications, one urgent question has been how to pay for those networks. When integrated with first-responder networks, Rivada's spectrum-sharing technology generates revenue to fund those rollouts without jeopardizing the public-safety mission.

Commenting on the patent award, Rivada Networks’ Executive Chairman and Co-CEO Declan Ganley said.“Dynamic Spectrum Arbitrage is a technology that will eventually be adopted around the world, so it is fantastic to have this patent awarded to us today. The technology covered by this patent will enable spectrum holders to dynamically lease their non-priority unused radio spectrum to the highest competitive bidder, while retaining complete control of their network and the ability to instantly take spectrum back as and when the need arises. This technology presents a win-win opportunity for spectrum holders and spectrum users. Spectrum holders are given the potential to generate revenues by dynamically leasing available spectrum on a short term basis, while commercial network operators obtain access to bandwidth when needed to meet the ever growing demands of their wireless customers.”

Rivada Networks is a leading designer, integrator and operator of wireless, interoperable communications networks. Rivada’s technology, Dynamic Spectrum Arbitrage-Tiered Priority Access (DSATPA), allows wireless broadband capacity to be dynamically bought and sold in a fully competitive on demand process to competing commercial entities. DSATPA is a game changer for the way in which spectrum is consumed, maximizing the efficiency of radio spectrum bandwidth and unlocking the potential for more extensive, higher capacity broadband networks.
