New Online Ad Platform Prevents Brands From Appearing With Offensive Content

Social media risk mitigation company Crisp today announced the launch of a new artificial-intelligence-based online ad service that audits content for advertisers to provide certainty in ad placements

Today Crisp announces an online advertising service for customers designed to combat misplaced ads that lead to brand erosion. As companies withdraw online ads for fear of them being served against extremist or inappropriate content, Crisp launches a new online advertising audit service that gives global brands complete certainty that their ads will not appear next to offensive content or fund terrorism.

Since top news publications first exposed the extent of misplaced ads on major online channels in February 2017, big-name brands have found their content associated with terrorism and pornographers, and those supporting extremist views. As a result, advertisers are looking for solutions which provide certainty that their brand will not appear against illegal and toxic content.

Crisp's new online advertising audit service uses expertly-trained AI to assess in real-time every user generated video, image and piece of text on webpages or channels, such as YouTube, where a brand's ad is shown. Crisp combines its AI with a global team of highly-trained Social Media Risk Analysts to further assess the nature of the video and image content, commentary, meta data and comments on the environment to understand whether it meets the brand's values and target audience. If a webpage or video channel does not conform, it is immediately withdrawn from the advertiser's approved network, stopping their brand from appearing against high-risk content.

Crisp already protects the world's best known household brands from the risks of user generated content on their social media channels. This service further extends the level of cover by managing the types of content their ads appear next to on third party webpages and channels.

"We are constantly protecting over a thousand global brands from the risks of social media," said Adam Hildreth, Founder and CEO of Crisp. "We see first-hand how damaging offensive and illegal content can be when associated with brands, and the effects are now too devastating for brands to ignore. Our online advertising audit service gives big-spending advertisers the confidence to re-instate their online campaigns."

Crisp is rolling out the new online advertising audit service to existing customers as an extension of their risk protection cover. New brands will be able to protect themselves with the audit service in the coming months.
