FirstLight Fiber Enhances Homecare Services for Visiting Nurse and Hospice for VT and NH

FirstLight Fiber today announced it has been selected by Visiting Nurse for Vermont and New Hampshire a non-profit home healthcare organization to provide connectivity for its homecare  and hospice staff in Vermont and New Hampshire

FirstLight Fiber, a leading fiber-optic bandwidth infrastructure services provider operating in New York and Northern New England, announced today that Visiting Nurse and Hospice for Vermont and New Hampshire (VNH), a non-profit organization dedicated to delivering outstanding home health and hospice services, has chosen FirstLight for the upgrade of its Internet services in West Lebanon, New Hampshire as well as at its new location in White River Junction, Vermont. As its remote and administrative staff and offices grow, Visiting Nurse and Hospice seeks to utilize FirstLight Internet services for reliable connectivity and impressive broadband capability.

“FirstLight Fiber’s Internet connectivity is very reliable and our user experience has been remarkably consistent for both our locally based and remote field staff,” commented Justin Bell, Director of Information Services for VNH. “FirstLight was able to adapt to our needs in ways that some other vendors could not. There were some challenges getting service to our location that FirstLight was readily able to overcome, and they were able to install our service in a very timely manner. From providing a great self-serve portal for DNS management to the team’s localized support, working with FirstLight has been very beneficial.”

FirstLight’s fiber-based, dedicated, symmetrical Internet service offers connection speeds up to 10 Gbps. The network’s industry leading design is architected with the fewest hop counts possible, which lowers latency and improves the overall user experience. Locally based technicians in each market and 24×7×365 network monitoring from its Network Operations Center (NOC) ensures that should an issue arise, the FirstLight team can quickly respond and address the situation.

“Excellent network performance and access to broadband capacity are critical components for successful healthcare organizations,” stated Kurt Van Wagenen, President and CEO of FirstLight Fiber. “As VNH continues to grow, we will be there to support its connectivity needs, and they can be confident knowing that it is running its operations over a reliable and secure network, allowing them to focus on providing high quality patient care.”
