Apple Issues Update to Strengthen Security Against Hacking

A number of news outlets are reporting a potential hacking threat to Apple's iPhone after Fox Business Network first reported that Apple has warned iPhone users to update their phones and computers with a new security patch.

Apple has issued a new security patch for iOS devices and Mac computers.

It’s designed to stop potential hack attacks that could come remotely via Wi-Fi.

“The virus is being considered a potentially serious threat,” FBN's Tracee Carrasco says, so the company is urging users to install the updates to protect their devices.

The latest cyber threat is also a risk to Android device users, but Google has taken steps as well to block the virus, issuing a similar security patch earlier this month.

The vulnerability, which is called Broadpwn, was exposed by a security worker. It also has the potential to attack Android devices.

Users are urged to update their phones and computers for the new security by going into Settings, General and then Software Update to install iOS 10.3.3.
