Rise of Smartphones, Android
Wherever they are in the world, mobile phone users will continue their migration to smartphones over the next four years, according to a report from Analysys Mason that foresees compound annual growth rate of 32 percent for the devices between 2010 and 2014, increasing the market share of smartphones to 26 percent by the end of that period.

market by 2014. Android has only 1 percent of the market today, though recent reports say that sales of smartphones using Android are growing swiftly, with sales in the U.K. growing by 400 percent over the last month. Of course, that growth comes from a very small base.

BSS Spending Outlook Strong
A new study from Transverse shows plans for communications service providers in their BSS outlook for the next two years. Four-fifths of providers plan to spend the same amount or more on BSS in the next 24 months as they did in the last 24 months. Around one-third
